A project that senses the users’ body motions to recognize the type of dance they are performing and plays music accordingly. We were thinking of using a Kinect and Leap Motion for gesture and body motion recognition. Our software would employ classification techniques to decide what form of dance the user is performing, e.g Salsa, Bhangra, Waltz. This classification would involve average tempo, body movements, postures, etc, and would select music that matches. It would use machine-learning so that the device can decide songs for the future based on user’s preferences.
